Pick-by-Watch: Picking like 007
Just like watches help the movie agent James Bond with his orders, a SmartWatch supports order picking in the warehouse and shows the way to the item. With Pick-by-Watch, SSI Schaefer has developed a new strategy for hands-free picking in the warehouse. A SmartWatch worn on the wrist
shows the employees in the warehouse from which storage bin the items are to be picked. The picks are confirmed on the SmartWatch display and verified by software. With the intention of further optimizing picking processes in the warehouse for users, a highly innovative picking strategy has been created. Further operations can be realized in combination with smartphones. The particular advantage of the concept: increased efficiency in person-to-goods picking without long training periods and a significant burden from the hardware. As a cooperation partner, SSI Schaefer works closely with HandyGames GmbH, Giebelstadt, a specialist for software on consumer devices.
