Groundbreaking ceremony: Gebrüder Weiss expands site in Carinthia
Maria Saal (Austria), 28.06.2018 - In mid-June, construction work officially began on the expansion of Gebrüder Weiss ' Austrian site in Maria Saal near Klagenfurt. The company is investing around 4.1 million euros in the expansion of the site, which should be completed by the end of 2018.
"With the expansion of our location, we are setting a decisive course for the future viability of Gebrüder Weiss in Carinthia and at the same time committing ourselves to the regional economic area," explained Markus Ebner, Branch Manager Gebrüder Weiss Maria Saal.
In the coming months, two additional logistics halls, a new office space and a paved traffic area will be built on more than 9,000 square meters. The logistics company has been operating in Carinthia since 1992. Around 100 people are currently employed there. The expansion of the site will also create new jobs. These are to be created in the areas of scheduling, warehousing, handling and transportation. Last year, the company handled more than 320,000 shipments to and from Carinthia.
