Gebrüder Weiss already has several of its own locations along the Silk Road - for example in Turkey, Georgia, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Russia and China. The opening of the new office in Tashkent is a further step in the logistics company's business strategy of expanding the overland route between Europe and China. "This will expand our local presence in Central Asia. For our customers, we are opening the way to a promising market, as networking between Europe and Asia is becoming increasingly important," says Thomas Moser, Director and Regional Manager Black Sea/CIS at Gebrüder Weiss.

Land transportation, air and sea freight

Customers in Tashkent and the surrounding area will now be looked after by local employees. "In addition to land transportation, our service portfolio there also includes air and sea freight," explains Thomas Moser. These services are to be successively expanded. Organizationally, the Uzbek representative office is assigned to the Gebrüder Weiss branch in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
