Logistics center
trans-o-flex plans in Hesse
The logistics group trans-o-flex is planning a new logistics center in Driedorf, Hesse. The sorting center next to a solar park is to be equipped with its own solar system on the roof.
The new center is intended to make the transport and sorting of pharmaceuticals and other sensitive goods faster, more ecological and more economical. The self-generated electricity could be used to operate the fully automated sorting system, maintain the temperature of the vehicle holds and charge electric vehicles. The company wants to increasingly produce the electricity for the electric vehicles itself. Trans-o-flex wants to continuously increase its share of electricity from solar energy, in particular by equipping its own properties with solar modules.
Construction is scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter of 2019. "We chose this location because it is ideally situated for both our trans-o-flex Express and trans-o-flex ThermoMed networks," says Wolfgang P. Albeck, Chairman of the trans-o-flex Management Board. Further synergies between the different networks are to be exploited in the future.
