"With this expansion, Segro is extending its range of modern and flexible commercial space to meet the strong demand. Demand will continue to rise with the opening of the new BER airport and the emergence of the Tesla Gigafactory," says Christina Schultz, Associate Director Development at Segro, confidently. On the one hand, small-scale light industrial units with a ceiling height of 6.5 meters will be built, while on the other, the focus will be on medium-sized urban logistics units. This new building type is particularly suitable for urban logistics and has a ceiling height of ten meters and several loading bays per unit. Tenants should be able to move into the new space from October 2021. The commercial section will then cover a total of around 82,000 square meters. The current 49,000 square meters are already 98 percent let. Segro Airport Park Berlin also has a logistics section, whose 72,500 square meters of rental space has been fully let for some time.
