The focus is on e-commerce growth
Goodman continues to expand in northern Germany
Goodman has continued its expansion in northern Germany with the acquisition of a brownfield site for the construction of a sustainable logistics center. The facility will comprise 700 square meters of office space and 1,900 square meters of mezzanine as well as covered outdoor storage areas. The Port of Hamburg is one of the three largest ports in Europe and a dynamic business location. In combination with the flexibility of the facility, the project offers opportunities for customers in the e-commerce sector and logistics service providers in the sought-after Hamburg port area.
Completion is planned for mid-2021. From the facility, it is only five minutes to the container terminals and the highway, 15 minutes to Hamburg city center and 25 minutes to the airport. The site is also connected by bus to the Airbus plants, the Hausbruch business park and the central bus station in Altona.
The real estate developer is continuing its expansion in northern Germany, having already developed and leased over 40,000 square meters in the area to Airbus and Diehl.
Markus Meyer, Head of Northern Germany at Goodman, says: "This site demonstrates Goodman's technical expertise in transforming brownfield sites into modern spaces, bringing our customers closer to their customers and improving the efficiency of their supply chains and last mile delivery." The site is an infill of a former harbor basin carried out between 2013 and 2015.
Commenting on Goodman's approach to brownfield developments, Markus Meyer says: "Although these projects can be challenging, they result in environmentally friendly and visually attractive spaces that often serve the common good."
