Efficient and safe charging
With its solutions, Fronius aims to set new standards in the charging of industrial trucks and automated guided vehicles. These enable users and manufacturers to seamlessly integrate vehicles, chargers and lithium-ion batteries in automated environments.
Driverless transport systems (AGVs) and autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) have become an integral part of intralogistics alongside industrial trucks - they transport goods and materials independently. At the same time, the growing demand for digitalized solutions requires powerful, available and safe charging devices. This is where Fronius systems come in. The portfolio of charging specialist Fronius is suitable for both lead-acid and lithium batteries. There is a choice of devices with an output of between 1 and 30 kilowatts. These are internationally certified according to CE, UL and UK CA. For individual adaptation, Fronius adjusts the charging parameters to the optimum, customer-specific charging curve based on the defined battery set-up (Custom Charging Curve) and implements this in the charger after an approval test.
Improved sustainability and reduced operating costs
The intelligent systems optimize the performance and safety of the overall system consisting of vehicle, battery and charger. According to the provider, they are also characterized by their high energy efficiency. A fast and gentle charging process extends the service life of the batteries. With an optimized charging time, vehicles can be put back into operation more quickly. The range also includes solutions that integrate renewable energy sources such as solar energy into the charging infrastructure. This increases the sustainability of the forklift fleet and reduces operating costs. If required, the battery experts can also supplement the complete charging infrastructure, offer support throughout the entire life cycle and provide regular training for users.
Lithium-ion charging solutions with the SelectION portfolio (CAN transmission) are available for operators and manufacturers of AGVs and AMRs. The devices in the Selectiva 4.0 product line are designed for lead-acid batteries as standard. However, thanks to a customer-specific charging curve, the Custom Charging Curve, they can also reliably charge lithium-ion batteries without CAN communication, for example via sliding contacts.
Intelligently networked
Fronius equips the chargers with a gateway to connect them to the fleet management system. This prepares operators for developments in their markets towards the integration of charging technology into fleet management or building management systems. Fronius relies on the industry standard OPC UA (Open Platform Communications Unified Architecture) for the transmission of all important information. This connection of the chargers offers a number of advantages - from visualization, live data transmission and remote start/stop of the charging process to remote updating of the charger firmware and device data. Additional functions can be integrated depending on customer requirements.
