400th sorter order for Interroll

The growing e-commerce business is leading to a steady increase in parcel volumes worldwide, a greater variety of packaging and more demanding expectations on the part of end customers, for example with regard to shorter delivery times. To meet these trends, Actemium Lyon Logistics developed a concept for the use of modern conveying and sorting technology as well as for the new generation of warehouse management systems (WMS) for three sorter platforms. The three sorter systems are now being installed for three different organizational units of the La Poste Group in France: La Poste Roissy Hub, DPD and Viapost.

"These new orders are also the result of many years of successful collaboration between Actemium Lyon Logistics and Interroll," explains Nicolas Jaffeux, Postal and Express Department Manager at Actemium Lyon Logistics. Bruno Maisonneuve, Business Unit Manager at Actemium Lyon Logistics adds: "Actemium is an active partner within the Rolling On Interroll network of Interroll."

Interroll offers horizontal and vertical crossbelt sorters for fully automated sorting processes at courier, express and parcel service providers, with throughput rates of 2,000 to 15,000 units per hour. Interroll has expanded its modular platform solutions with a new single-shot conveyor. It is specially designed for use with Interroll crossbelt sorters. The modular infeed conveyors combine higher infeed speeds with reduced space requirements and thus offer considerable potential for increasing the flow of goods in automatic sorting systems. In addition, a low operating noise level ensures a pleasant working environment for employees working in the vicinity of the system. In addition, the mechanical design of Interroll's crossbelt sorters minimizes energy consumption while offering very high availability and flexibility as well as a low environmental impact.
