SIVAPlan: Fully automated inspection system to combat pallet shortages
Due to high demand, there are currently many damaged and faulty Euro pallets in circulation. These are a major source of errors for the tightly synchronized material flow systems of many companies. The pallet inspection systems from SIVAplan offer protection against accidents and malfunctions during operation. There is currently a shortage of pallets in Germany. This is partly due to the good economic situation and partly to the high demand for products manufactured in Germany. Fully automated intralogistics in particular requires fault-free Euro pallets that can be stored and retrieved in high-bay warehouses and transported within the company on conveyor technology without any problems. Many of the load carriers that are accepted by freight forwarders or suppliers do not meet the strict quality requirements for fully automated conveyor systems. Broken top or bottom boards, protruding nails and missing blocks make it clear why pallets must be checked to ensure they are intact.
Fully automatic pallet inspection systems, which can be offered as a stand-alone solution or connected to existing conveyor systems, provide a remedy here and ensure trouble-free operation. Pallet inspection and detailed documentation of faults help to ensure that pallets can be repaired in a timely and targeted manner, significantly reducing pallet waste.
The SIVAplan pallet inspection system checks the dimensions of the load carriers, verifies their completeness and tests their load-bearing capacity using optical, pneumatic and electromechanical quality testing. The software offers detailed documentation that stores all data for documentation purposes, from the name of the delivering freight forwarder to the defects of the individual pallets. A live view of the process is also possible; it is visualized in detail on the system's display.
