Schoeller Allibert and Recalo agree on partnership

Plastics specialist Schoeller Allibert and pooling company Recalo will be working even more closely together in future. The two companies have agreed a strategic partnership to market the jointly developed Smart Light Pac returnable load carrier for the FMCG and food industry.

The contract that has now been signed is part of a comprehensive and long-term collaboration between the two companies. It promises a sales volume of almost seven million euros over the next five years.

The partnership includes a long-term supplier contract and the production and marketing of a new, three-part, foldable Smart Light Pac (SLP) reusable load carrier for the fast-moving consumer goods and food industries.

Specially tailored to trucks
Depending on the ring used, the Smart Light Pac is 980 or 1,250 millimetres high and can carry maximum loads of 850 kilograms. The three-tier SLP has Euro pallet dimensions of 1,200 x 800 millimetres and is therefore specially tailored to truck transport. This is also underlined by its low folding height of 237 millimetres. This means that 13 folded SLPs can be stacked on top of each other in a truck with a loading height of three meters. This increases vehicle utilization, reduces carbon dioxide pollution and lowers transport costs. The Smart Light Pack can be used in numerous industries and the flat pack can also be produced for other companies on request.
