EPAL: Pallet production remains at a high level in 2019
The total volume of EPAL pallets produced and repaired continued to grow in 2019. Around 123 million of the load carriers were produced and repaired last year.
Compared to the previous year, this is an increase of one percent or 1.2 million pallets. Repair figures fell slightly in 2019, from 27.5 million in 2018 to 26.8 million last year. In terms of pure production figures, there was an increase of 2.4%.
Robert Holliger, President of EPAL, explained: "Despite the slowdown in economic development in Europe, the need and demand for EPAL pallets increased in 2019." There are currently more than 600 million EPAL pallets and 20 million pallet cages available to global transport logistics, which are used by shippers, transport companies and large retailers.
