Unitechnik: More capacity for distribution center
The automation specialist Turck will in future supply all European customers centrally from its goods distribution center in Mülheim an der Ruhr. In order to create the necessary capacity, system integrator Unitechnik is adding a new automated small parts warehouse (AKL) and a walking beam storage system to the distribution center. The conversion will take place during ongoing operations. Commissioning of the new components is planned for May 2018. "The expansion measures proposed by Unitechnik meet our requirements very well," explains Ulrich vom Bovert, Head of Purchasing and Logistics at Turck. The planned expansion will take place during the ongoing operation of the goods distribution center and will create capacities for at least ten more years. In addition, the concept also makes it possible to expand the site beyond the measures currently planned.
