SSI Schäfer and BD Rowa extend cooperation
SSI Schaefer and the solution provider for automated order picking and digital applications, BD Rowa, will continue to work together. The companies have extended the corresponding contract for a further five years.
The aim of the cooperation is to offer customers in the healthcare sector a complete solution that prepares them today for future processes such as e-prescriptions or the development of hub & spoke models.

"We are currently experiencing a change in the healthcare sector in many countries. While Germany is preparing for the e-prescription, in the UK, for example, it's all about hub & spoke," explains Dirk Bockelmann, Global Commercial Director at BD Rowa. "Here, customers expect partners who know their needs and the market and have a solution for them. With SSI Schaefer, we have a strong partner at our side to offer manufacturers and distributors in the healthcare sector exactly the right complete solution they need."
The foundation stone for the cooperation was laid with the first cooperation agreement in 2015. Since then, several projects have been successfully implemented. "Our customers specifically ask for process optimization. This starts with fast, medium and slow-moving items, but we are also looking at the refrigeration area and the handling of anaesthetics for more and more customers. Here, for example, we are talking about pick-up terminals as part of process automation. This topic was less present five years ago than it is today," explains Dirk Bockelmann.
With a cooperation agreement until 2024, the two companies want to jointly support customers in the healthcare sector worldwide in optimizing their processes and thus make the processes between wholesalers, pharmacies and customers smoother, faster and safer.
