Open fronted storage bins bring order to the warehouse
For ten years, the online player Outlet46 has been offering shoes, fashion and accessories at low prices directly from brand manufacturers under the motto "Brands up - Price Down". More than two million customers are served worldwide. To ensure smooth operations in its logistics center, the premium online retailer relies on the plastic storage systems of the Amerang-based family business Auer Packaging.

Brothers Fatih, Enes and Abdul-Aziz Özdemir, managing directors of Outlet46, give a tour of their warehouse, which is located in the industrial estate just outside Goslar. From floor to ceiling, sorted in stackable storage boxes, trendy accessories, sports shoes and clothing from well-known fashion labels are stored. More than 250,000 items are permanently in stock here. The young, owner-managed company independently handles the entire value chain from purchasing, goods receipt, storage, content, sales, returns management and consumer support. 60 employees work early and late shifts to ensure that up to 5,500 shipments can leave the company every day. All orders that are paid for by 5 p.m. are dispatched on the same day.
Enes Özdemir, who is responsible for the operational business, likes to say that trading is in his and his brothers' (responsible for marketing and purchasing) blood. "We set up our first business while we were still at school. First as a flea market trader and later online: We sold socks - very space-saving products that we could store in our own "children's room"."
The Outlet46 warehouse has other dimensions: Branded goods are stored in three halls covering a total of 15,000 square meters. "And this is where Auer Packaging comes into play," explains Enes Özdemir, opening the transparent front of one of the many thousands of open-fronted storage bins in his warehouse.
Logistics and warehouse optimization with Auer Packaging

Outlet46 has been operating its warehouse and logistics center in Goslar for four years now. Here, goods are delivered, sorted and forwarded to a growing customer base worldwide within a very short time. With the increasing importance of the fashion segment in the company, the new logistics center had become necessary. "The goods are delivered in large containers, which then had to be rearranged into smaller boxes for storage," says Enes Özdemir. To ensure that the goods in each box remained visible to the warehouse staff, the boxes were cut out on one side. "At some point, this was no longer a good solution and we actively looked for an optimization that would make this work step superfluous and at the same time guarantee clear storage of our goods. That's how we came across Auer Packaging's display storage boxes."
The "Auer camp" in Goslar
The robust storage boxes from Auer Packaging are now an integral part of Outlet46's workflow. The trial order in 2014 turned into a close, ongoing business relationship. "We now refer to our warehouse here as the 'Auer warehouse'," explains Özdemir. There is a reason for this: the practical, stackable open-fronted storage bins from the Upper Bavarian family business replace a conventional shelf storage system for incoming goods. The differently sized, modular and stable open-fronted storage bins offer the perfect conditions for storing, viewing and removing goods. Specifically, in addition to the SLK 64/42, SLK 43/22 and SLK 43/32 models, the MB6432 transport containers and RO64GU transport trolleys in the standard colors blue and grey from the Auer range are also used at Outlet46.
Quality at a fair price
The two owner-managed family companies in Goslar and Amerang are also united in their philosophy of offering their own customers high-quality products at reasonable prices and always supplying them reliably. "Auer Packaging manufactures its products from high-quality plastic, which makes the containers extremely robust and virtually immune to wear and tear in everyday use. In addition to the quality, we were impressed by the fair price-performance ratio right from the start of our collaboration," recalls Özdemir. "The fact that the open-fronted storage bins look really good in addition to their functionality and attractive price is of course no disadvantage either," adds his brother. Outlet46's order volume at Auer Packaging is currently in the mid six-figure range. Expansion is very likely, because the Özdemir brothers have one goal: "We want to become Europe's largest online outlet."
