The online trade for beauty products is booming. Clicked into the shopping cart from the comfort of your couch at home, the desired product is usually already on the bathroom shelf the next day. A well-known address for beauty shopping on the web: flaconi. The online pure player has its hands full , because in addition to quality, customers expect their orders to arrive quickly. The goods roll through the aisles of the 10,000 square meterwarehouse in Berlin at breakneck speed , reliably transported by the KT3 order picking trolley from Wanzl.

"We do everything we can toofferour customers a comprehensive beautyexperienceand a high quality of service, " says Steffen Christ, part of theflaconi management teamand COO responsible for logistics. "In addition to the broad product portfolio, we achieve our claim primarily through an optimal supply chain, simple order processing and fast shipping. As wework according to the 'man to goods' principle inour warehouse, we place high demands on our picking trolleys in particular in our daily operations. That's why we opted for the KT3 model from Wanzl ."

A total of 100 trolleys from theindustry expert are in daily use at flaconi , both in storage and picking. The goods are firmly stored on the meter-high shelves , and there is a lot of activity in between. A total of twopicking trolleys have to fit next to each other in the narrow aisles when the goods are deposited or retrieved. Flexibility is a must, as is resilience. The routes in the warehouseare long , because 720 brands and 45,000 products need their space. "A total of 150 employees work here and the trolleys are their constant companions," reports Christ. "In addition to a load capacity of up to 300 kg, the KT3 impresses us above all with its maneuverability, which is achieved by the additional 5th wheel, and its low weight. Thanks to the separately attached ladder, our employees can also reach the high shelves."

The range of products stored by flaconi in Berlin is diverse: from natural cosmetics and luxury products toclassic Nivea cream, tubes, glass bottles and all kinds of fragile jars find their way into the baskets and compartments of the trolley. It has to be equipped accordingly. Thanks to its system design, the KT3 couldbe adapted to the special requirements of the beautypioneer. "In order to transport our goods efficiently, Wanzl configured the KT3 individually for us. In addition to the 5th wheel and the ladder, all trolleys have an additional pair of handlebars so that they can be pushed comfortably through the aisles. We also equipped the model for storage with a mesh rear wall and four hanging shelves, while we chose six hanging shelves for the pick, " explains Steffen Christ.
