Company anniversary
Shelving specialist Elvedi celebrates its 40th anniversary
The shelving system provider Elvedi is celebrating its big anniversary in 2024. Early expansion and sales partnerships mean that the company from the southern Black Forest now operates throughout Europe. The shelving manufacturer intends to continue on this growth path in the future and is planning to expand its sales area in Europe.
Founded in 1984 in Dübendorf, Switzerland, Elvedi moved four years later to its headquarters in Blumberg in the southern Black Forest, which it acquired at the same time. The site was continuously expanded until 2003 and now housesthe company's main production and storage facility on an area of 7,000m2 . While ELVEDI produces exclusively "made in Germany", the supplier has been active abroad with sales branches for decades. This development began in 1989 with the company's first locations in France and Austria. To this day, the shelving expert is constantly expanding and is also active in Scandinavia, among other countries.
From cantilevers to hall construction
In 40 years of company history, Elvedi has developed from a shelving manufacturer to a system service provider: initially concentrating on cantilever and pallet racking, the shelving manufacturer has expanded its product portfolio over the years - always with the aim of being able to offer its customers everything from a single source. As a result, the company can now offer solutions for every industry and a comprehensive product range from cantilever, cantilever arm and pallet racking to special and shelving racking, storage platforms and racking hall construction. Individual and needs-based advice and design round off the range.
Elvedi claims to be one of the first companies in the industry to receive DIN ISO EN 9001 and 14001 quality and environmental certifications. The shelving manufacturer also holds various patents - from the static design of the shelving systems to ease of assembly. The system service provider has already been able to implement many large-scale projects, some of them international. A particular highlight in Germany was its involvement in the construction of the Allianz Arena in Munich, where Elvedi designed and installed special shelving solutions for the safe routing of all supply lines. Such projects require a certain amount of experience, as Edwin Müller-Rauschenbach, Sales Director at Elvedi, explains: "Major projects like the one in Munich require teamwork. This includes strong partners in the areas of logistics and installation as well as dedicated employees and sales consultants on site who open up new markets for us."
