Outpatient Children's Hospice Munich

Family sponsorship continues

The outpatient children's hospice in Munich supports families with seriously ill children, as well as seriously ill parents with minors in the household. WEKA FACHMEDIEN, WEKA BUSINESS MEDIEN and WEKA MEDIA PUBLISHING have been supporting the foundation as family sponsors for several years now.

True to this motto "Don't fill life with days - fill the days with life", the AKM has been looking after families with unborn babies, newborns, infants, children and adolescents, as well as young adults with a life-threatening or life-shortening illness and seriously ill parents with minors in the household since 2004. The foundation currently supports almost 500 affected families throughout Bavaria.

The AKM Foundation is there for the entire family from the diagnosis of the illness until after death. The team is supported in this work by full-time doctors, psychologists, nurses, social workers and over 300 volunteers in the areas of crisis intervention, family and grief counseling. The aim is to be a firm support for families during this difficult time and to provide moments of safety, security and normality.

The AKM Foundation has to finance itself largely from donations. Therefore: every cent counts! The foundation relies on donations large and small to support and care for the children and their families. Only with many helping hands and generous donors can the AKM continue to maintain and expand its services for the affected families.

We have been actively supporting the foundation as a family sponsor for several years now. WEKA FACHMEDIEN, WEKA BUSINESS MEDIEN and WEKA MEDIA PUBLISHING are continuing their family sponsorship for 2022 with a check for 6,500 euros. This will ensure that a family is provided for for a whole year.

Eva-Maria Büttner from the Outpatient Children's Hospice Munich was delighted when Matthäus Hose (Divisional Managing Director WEKA BUSINESS COMMUNICATION), Peter Eberhard (Publishing Director WEKA BUSINESS MEDIEN) and Dirk Waasen (Publishing Director WEKA MEDIA PUBLISHING) presented her with the cheque on December 20, 2021.

The AKM Foundation's service is currently offered throughout Bavaria with three regional centers in Landshut, Inning and Rosenheim and, of course, in Munich City - it is free of charge for the families concerned.
