DWMS scan tunnel
Determination of weight, volume and 2D codes in a single work step
The DWMS scan tunnel from Stadler + Schaaf is a complete system for recording the weight and volume of parcels and goods.
Up to 6-sided barcode reading is possible and, based on artificial intelligence, consignments in plastic tubs, damaged parcels or goods carriers are also detected during throughput. The scanning systems are particularly effective when retrofitting existing logistics and distribution centers.
The modular concept and compact design also make it easy to ship the pre-assembled scan tunnel. It can be quickly and easily integrated into existing systems on site. Possible areas of application include parcel logistics (distribution centers) and warehouses (incoming/outgoing goods). As the scan tunnel can be used within a high temperature range, it can also be used for temperature-sensitive goods in cold rooms.
The scan tunnel is designed for high belt speeds of up to 3 m/s, and therefore for a high parcel throughput. It has its own intelligent control system that provides parcel information in milliseconds in the required data format for higher-level systems. Status messages and read rates of > 99.95 % can be viewed directly via an operating panel or accessed remotely at any time. The measurement of volume and weight can also be calibrated as an option. This means that the values can also be used for billing purposes (legal-for-trade approval).
Oliver Eibl, responsible for intralogistics at Stadler + Schaaf, adds: "A cloud connection in conjunction with big data analysis also makes it possible to identify potential for optimization and changes in the flow of goods at an early stage." Simulations can be used to determine the degree of optimization as early as the planning phase. After installation, the scan tunnels can be mechanically and electrically maintained by Stadler + Schaaf over their entire life cycle.
