Amber Beverage Group makes a purchase
15 million euro order for Jungheinrich
The international spirits producer Amber Beverage Group (ABG) has commissioned Jungheinrich to build an automated high-bay warehouse worth 15.5 million euros in the Latvian capital Riga.
"It is very important for us to ensure efficient freight and pallet management for our partners in more than 185 countries, as well as to maintain the speed of development of investment projects that characterize our company," comments Ekaterina Stuģe, CEO of Amber Beverage Group. "Most of our investments will go towards high-tech equipment for our new warehouse. This once again supports our ambitious plan to become one of the ten most influential and modern players in the global spirits industry," says Ekaterina Stuģe.
"We are delighted that Amber Beverage Group is implementing a logistics automation project of this size. Due to its complexity and level of automation, this project is important not only for the Baltic market, but also throughout Europe. We will install modern stacker cranes for pallets and small parts, conveyor technology, automated order picking systems such as pick-by-light and put-by-light as well as automated guided vehicles and combine them with an efficient warehouse management system," comments Māris Supe, Sales Manager at Jungheinrich Lift Truck in the Baltic States.
The Amber Beverage Group is investing over 33 million euros in the project, which is being realized in collaboration with specialists in artificial intelligence. More than 24,000m2 will be acquired for the first construction phase to create automated order warehouses, assembly and dispensing areas as well as an administration area.
All processes in the high-bay area of the warehouse are fully automated. In total, pallets can be stored on top of each other on nine rack levels. This gives the warehouse a total height of 24 meters. While the company's current storage capacity is 25,000 pallet spaces, the new warehouse will offer space for 35,000 pallets and the storage capacity can be increased to 45,000 pallet spaces if required. The construction of the new warehouse will merge the three existing Amber Beverage Group warehouses.
