Zeitfracht Group expands

The Zeitfracht Group continues to grow. The logistics group is investing a double-digit million amount in the expansion of its fleet: the company has converted options for 30 new Mercedes-Benz Actros trucks into firm orders, increasing its order to almost 100 trucks from the new Mercedes series.

The first eight trucks were handed over to the family-owned company on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the Mercedes-Benz Commercial Vehicle Center Berlin. The remaining trucks will be delivered to Zeitfracht by the beginning of 2020.

Safety through assistance systems

In addition to new turning, braking and lane departure warning technology, the Mercedes-Benz Actros has a 360-degree camera system that replaces the classic exterior mirrors. The new model series also has lower fuel consumption and is therefore more environmentally friendly and economical than its predecessor models.

"Important step for expansion"

Wolfram Simon-Schröter, Managing Director of the Zeitfracht Group: "Following the takeover of the KNV Group, the acquisition of the new trucks is an important step in our company's expansion strategy. The enlarged pool of trucks offers us the opportunity to grow further. In addition, the new vehicles will bring major advances, particularly in the areas of safety and environmental friendliness. We are committed to this as a responsible company."

At the beginning of August, the Zeitfracht Group took over and integrated the Stuttgart-based book logistics company Koch, Neff und Volckmar. KNV Zeitfracht GmbH now supplies customers in German-speaking countries overnight with books, calendars and other bookstore items from the wholesale warehouse in Erfurt. The company's product range includes around 590,000 items from more than 5,000 suppliers.
