All models - Volvo FH, Volvo FH16, Volvo FM and Volvo FMX - have a new, flexible user interface with a digital instrument display. And new cabs.

The vehicles have been available to order in Germany since September 7, 2020. "With our new trucks, we are meeting the needs of both drivers and hauliers. By further developing classic Volvo features such as ergonomics, comfort and safety and combining them with new innovative technologies and designs, we have made the driving environment even more attractive and productive," says Peter Prijak, Director new Vehicle Sales in Germany.

A new, fully digital 12-inch instrument display provides the driver with access to information that helps to avoid mistakes. For example, driving and rest times are displayed, making it easier to plan journeys and reducing the risk of breaching regulations. Traffic sign recognition is another practical function that alerts the driver to speed limits, overtaking bans and the type of road. With four selectable views, each driver can customize the content and appearance of the instrument display before setting off. The load display enables the load weight, the total weight of the vehicle and the axle pressure per axle to be checked. For trucks with a navigation system, the navigation view with maps is the right choice.

The Volvo FM and Volvo FMX have a new cab with up to one cubic meter more interior space compared to its predecessor. Not least thanks to the lowered door line, this gives the truck a more spacious feel, a larger working area and significantly improved visibility. The low, wide entrance with two steps with improved anti-slip properties and lighting makes it easier to use on routes with frequent stops.
