Volvo Group opens new central warehouse in Malsfeld
The Volvo Group has opened a new Support Distribution Center in Germany. In cooperation with logistics partner GEODIS, a new central warehouse covering around 5,000 square meters has been built in North Hesse near Malsfeld.
Peter Devos, Vice President Service Market Logistics Volvo Group Europe, comments: "The partnership with GEODIS is based on transparency and mutual respect. Together we strive to continuously improve service. This is a real milestone in our efforts to further develop service market logistics operations and increase value for all Volvo Group customers in Germany."
A variable number of employees ensure the smooth management of more than 30,000 stored products in the new central warehouse. Around 1,000 orders are packed and dispatched every day. The parts are delivered to dealers and garages nationwide the next day via an overnight service - even at weekends. A special service has been set up with the "call-out service" for emergencies 365 days a year, 24 hours a day.
Antje Lochmann, Managing Director GEODIS in Germany: "We are delighted to have gained a professional partner in the premium segment of commercial vehicle manufacturers in the Volvo Group and to be able to expand this constructive partnership in the coming years. The creation of additional space at the Malsfeld site for the Volvo Group in a central location in Germany is part of our strategy to support customers in the automotive sector in the area of spare parts."
