According to estimates, there is a shortage of applicants for 20 percent of advertised driver positions in Europe. In order to attract qualified drivers, hauliers are increasingly focusing on the equipment of their vehicles. The developers of Volvo Trucks' cab models have optimized visibility, comfort, ergonomics, noise levels, manoeuvrability and safety. They also adapted the vehicle design.

Interior becomes more spacious
Increasing the interior volume by one cubic meter provides more working space in the Volvo FM and Volvo FMX models. Larger windows and new mirrors improve the driver's visibility. Increased insulation has a positive effect on the temperature and noise level in the cab. All models have been equipped with a digital user interface for information and communication.

Promoting responsible driving behavior
"Drivers who handle their trucks safely and efficiently are invaluable to any transportation company. Responsible driving can help reduceCO2 emissions and fuel costs, as well as reduce the risk of accidents, injuries and unplanned downtime. Our new trucks will help drivers to work more safely and productively. They provide our customers with strong arguments in the competition for the best drivers," says Roger Alm, President of Volvo Trucks, explaining the investment.
