"Reducing fuel consumption and the associated reduction in carbon dioxide emissions is crucial for any transport company, especially if they are involved in long haulage. With the new Volvo FH with I-Save, we are offering transport companies even better opportunities to reduce their operating costs and improve their environmental footprint," says Jessica Sandström, Senior Vice President Product Management at Volvo Trucks.

The new Volvo FH with I-Save is part of Volvo Trucks' new European product range, which was launched this spring. I-Save includes numerous solutions for optimizing fuel consumption, first and foremost the Volvo D13TC engine. Launched in early 2019, Volvo's 13-liter turbo engine is the company's most fuel-efficient engine to date.

In the new generation of the Volvo FH with I-Save, the product developers have further reduced fuel consumption. With the help of software updates based on the evaluation of user data, the balance between fuel consumption and driving characteristics has been refined and optimized, resulting in a further reduction in fuel consumption when driving in Eco mode.

Apart from the upgrade to I-Save, the Volvo FH has a more aerodynamic design. To save even more fuel, I-Safe now has a new function that allows the vehicle to recognize when it is worth raising the engine speed slightly and then letting the vehicle roll - even on roads that look flat to the human eye.
