Transhipment solution for rail
TX Logistik: First Nikrasa shipment in Hungary
TX Logistik is now also using the Nikrasa system, a transhipment solution that allows non-craneable semi-trailers to be loaded onto rail, in Hungary. The first transport took place on the route between Herne and Budapest.
"There have always been high-volume transports between Hungary and Germany. Until now, however, only a very small number of craneable semi-trailers were available for rail transport in Hungary," explains Bernd Weisweiler, Director Business Development, Innovation and Funding at TX Logistik. "Our Nikrasa system, with which we can quickly and easily transfer almost any semi-trailer to rail, has therefore met with great interest from Hungarian freight forwarders."
The first non-craneable semi-trailer has now been successfully loaded for transport to Germany for the customer International-Alexander at the Mahart Container Center rail terminal in Budapest. "We see good opportunities for further Nikrasa customers, especially on our connection between Herne and Budapest, which we currently operate with five round trips per week," says Weisweiler. "With the Herne - Budapest route, customers can now use the Nikrasa system on a total of ten connections," adds Christoph Dörre, Manager Nikrasa and Business Development, Innovation and Funding at TX Logistik. "We want to consolidate this network with additional routes in the future and thus support the development of the European TXL and Mercitalia network at the same time."
