On August 6, the TFG took over the sponsorship of its own bee colony, which was christened "Happy Bee by TFG". The TFG colony lives in Buxtehude in northern Germany with beekeeper Heinrich Goller, who takes care of the TFG bees.

"We are delighted to be able to offer a new species a protected home and thus fulfil our obligation as a company to protect the environment - on both a small and large scale," says Dr. Bernd Pahnke, CEO of TFG Transfracht.

The location near Hamburg offers ideal living conditions for the bee colony with its location between the Geest, moorland and orchards. In future, the TFG bees will pollinate numerous trees and plants both along the wetlands and in Buxtehude's many green spaces, making the city more ecologically diverse.

Green logistics is gaining in importance

Sustainable management is increasingly playing a key role today. The logistics service provider wants to set a good example when it comes to 'green logistics'. TFG relies on rail as the main mode of transportation and avoids around 80%of CO2 emissions compared to transport by truck. With the EcoPlus offer, electricity from renewable energy sources, TFG offers 100% CO2-free rail transport. TFG Transfracht also offers the option of issuing certificates forCO2 emissionssaved by rail transportation compared to alternative transportation by truck.
