Logistics start-up offers bicycle shipping
Together with various providers, the Leipzig-based start-up Pamyra is setting up a nationwide and comprehensive network for the transportation of bicycles. Dealers or private individuals can use the platform to compare and book various offers from transport companies online.
At the beginning of the year, the logistics service provider Hermes discontinued bicycle shipping, and Pamyra is now creating such an offer for its users. In addition to transport, suitable transport packaging is also organized if necessary. Shippers can choose between individual shipping companies and different rates on the comparison platform. To do this, the start and destination destination of the shipment is entered in the search mask and a distinction is then made between "bicycle" or "e-bike" when specifying the load.
The right packaging solution
Once the shipper has decided on a provider, the two-wheeler reaches its destination in between two and five working days, depending on the carrier and route. Pamyra.de has found a simple solution for packing bikes for shipping: Bookers can use the comparison platform's "All Inclusive" tariff to have a suitable box delivered to their home or business.
Responding to customer demand
"Until now, shippers have not only been put off by the high costs of transporting bicycles, but above all by the time-consuming organization of the transport," explains Felix Wiegand, founder and Managing Director of Pamyra.de. "Our focus is not actually on bicycle transportation, but after many customers approached us with this issue, we have now developed a simple and cost-effective solution together with partners from the transport industry. With this, a transport for bicycles can be booked within three minutes via Pamyra.de."
