Schwarzmüller Group appoints new CEO
Freinberg, Austria, 05.02.2016 - The CEO of the Schwarzmüller Group, Jan Willem Jongert, is to leave the company. His successor will be the current COO Roland Hartwig.
This was announced by the Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Dr. Johannes Hochleitner. With Hartwig, an experienced manager has been selected who will seamlessly take over sole management responsibility, said Hochleitner.
The new CEO Roland Hartwig was appointed COO in the fall of 2015 and will assume overall operational responsibility for the Schwarzmüller Group with immediate effect. The Chairman of the Supervisory Board emphasized that this decision was logical due to Hartwig's personality and the planned focus of the company's development until 2020. Following the successful realignment of sales, for which Jongert stands, Schwarzmüller will now push ahead with its international production, as this is where the greatest potential for the company currently lies.
Hartwig emphasized that he was pleased about the trust placed in him and was looking forward to his new role with great confidence. The company is well positioned and has great development opportunities in the market as well as in production and product development. Hartwig, born in 1966, completed an apprenticeship as a machine fitter and graduated in mechanical engineering from Regensburg University of Applied Sciences in 1990. From 1992, he worked for Linde Material Handling. Most recently, Hartwig was Vice President Operations there and managed Linde's parent plant in Aschaffenburg.

The Chairman of the Supervisory Board thanked outgoing CEO Jongert for his successful work at the Schwarzmüller Group. As the first manager not to come from the owner family, Jongert had made his mark on the company in a short space of time, underpinning the prescribed growth course for 2020 with a coherent strategy and achieving the first milestones. According to Hochleitner, growth of more than 30 percent in two and a half years, the development of new markets and new sales focuses in the product portfolio are convincing signs of this. Jongert will be taking on a new challenge at his own request. red
