Schmitz Cargobull invests 100 million euros in Vreden site

25.09.2018, Vreden - Trailer manufacturer Schmitz Cargobull is investing massively in capacity expansion.

The company's Supervisory Board has approved an investment package of 100 million euros for the Vreden site. A digital and automated factory is being built in Vreden that combines a high level of individualization with high quality and low production costs. "In our "Strategy 2025", we have set ourselves the goal of becoming the global market leader for box semi-trailers and flatbed semi-trailers as well as the European market leader for tipper semi-trailers," says Andreas Schmitz. "That's why we increased production last year from 76 vehicles per day in August 2017 to currently over 100 refrigerated vehicles in Vreden." The investment heralds the expansion into a digital factory with an increased range of variants.
