Thirteen new employees for Hergarten Stahlspedition
New MAN TGX for a steel-blue vehicle fleet
Ten new MAN TGX 18.510 tractor units for use in long-distance transport and three new MAN TGX 26.470s for local transport with swap bodies have recently been added to the fleet of Cologne-based Hergarten Stahlspedition.
Hergarten Stahlspedition GmbH from Cologne specializes in everything to do with the transport, distribution, handling and storage of steel. Since the end of February, thirteen new MAN TGX trucks have been in use for this purpose.
The ten MAN TGX 18.510 semitrailer tractors currently handed over are equipped with driver assistance and safety systems from the latest series. This starts with the standard MAN EBA emergency brake assistant and continues with ACC Stop & Go adaptive cruise control, lane change and turning assistance including the new turning assistant, LRA (Lane Return Assist), MAN AttentionGuard (attention warning system) and the Light and Vision plus safety package, which includes LED headlights with high beam assistant.
With the GX cab, the MAN TGX semitrailer tractors have the largest cab variant and offer drivers many amenities. These include an electric stationary air conditioning system ex works, the new design of which retains the full volume of both exterior storage compartments. The multifunction leather steering wheel including driver airbag and the "park position" function also ensure comfort. In the rest position, the steering wheel can be folded completely forward into a horizontal position, creating legroom for the driver.
Hergarten drivers can rely on the electronically controlled MAN ComfortSteering steering system, which enables maneuvering without effort, for example. With MAN EfficientCruise, they also receive the ideal support from their new TGX to help them travel economically on their tours. The GPS-supported cruise control analyzes the route and automatically determines the most economical driving style and speed. In July 2021, the steel-blue fleet will be supplemented with five more MAN TGX semitrailer tractors
