For Kaufmann, the official Mercedes-Benz dealer in Chile based in Santiago, delivery reliability is the most important factor for customer satisfaction. The company imports Mercedes-Benz, Freightliner and Fuso passenger cars and commercial vehicles, and converts chassis into special vehicles such as construction or waste disposal vehicles in cooperation with 30 external service providers. The volume of orders has increased by 100 percent in the last eight years alone - to around 13,000 vehicles per year and around 1,000 vehicle movements per day.

In order to meet the delivery deadlines with the highly complex logistics processes and despite the growing volume of orders, the company was looking for alternatives to traditional planning methods. "We wanted to use the solution to ensure that we process the most urgent orders first and that the necessary resources are always available," says Derek Bull, Logistics Manager at Kaufmann. The choice fell on the SyncroTESS software solution from Inform in the industry variant for Vehicle Logistics. The system transparently maps the entire route of the produced vehicle from the factory to the dealer, synchronizes all processes across the board and optimizes all production orders to achieve the main goal of ensuring on-time delivery. The SyncroTESS yard management module controls and optimizes both the parking and loading of cars and coordinates all incoming and outgoing transports.

Kaufmann opted for Inform because the Aachen-based company can point to reference installations at automotive manufacturers and logistics companies worldwide and was able to impress with its in-depth, industry-specific understanding of processes. The two companies have built up a trusting partnership that they will continue for further projects, including the implementation of the software solution at Divemotor in Peru, a subsidiary of Kaufmann. "Without the digitalization of our processes, we would not be sustainable in the long term. This also applies to Kaufmann in other countries and we are convinced that INFORM is the right partner to continue on this path with us," summarizes Derek Bull.
