LTG buys first truck trailer at auction - proceeds go to driver initiative
Langenlonsheimer Transport GmbH (LTG) has bought a Krone Profi Liner in the new Brummi Edition at auction. The proceeds will be used to support the joint initiative of the Federal Association of Road Haulage, Logistics and Disposal (BGL) and Krone to strengthen the image of professional drivers.
The auction proceeds of 26,500 euros will serve as founding capital for the joint initiative. In order to give the initiative more publicity, trailer manufacturer Krone is producing a special edition of 50 Korne Brummi Liners, which are available at a special price. "This initiative is a matter close to Krone's heart," emphasized Dr. Frank Albers, Krone Managing Director Sales and Marketing at the BGL's annual general meeting. "Hardly any end consumers think about how fresh food or other everyday items actually get to the supermarkets. This is simply impossible without the truck and driver. That's why we - and by that I mean the entire industry - need to push this issue and communicate it to the end consumer in a sustainable way." The patron of the initiative is Federal Minister of Transport Andreas Scheuer.
