"Goodbye Diesel - Hello LNG" project honored
Krummen Kerzers and Lidl Switzerland honored with Swiss Logistics Award
Krummen Kerzers and Lidl Switzerland received the Swiss Logistics Award for their pilot project "Goodbye Diesel - Hello LNG". The aim is to reduce transport-related carbon dioxide emissions. The prestigious award recognizes new and particularly future-oriented logistics solutions.
"We are very pleased about the renewed confirmation of our work. We prove that a sustainable corporate strategy and economic success can go hand in hand," emphasizes Peter Krummen, Managing Director of Krummen Kerzers AG.
With the "Goodbye Diesel - Hello LNG" initiative, Krummen Kerzers and Lidl Switzerland have put the country's first filling stations for LNG into operation in Switzerland. The two filling stations significantly reduce the carbon dioxide emissions and air pollutants of their own fleet. In addition, the two partners are working intensively with the authorities, research and industry on a solution to enable the infrastructure to be used with liquid biogas in the future.
The joint venture between Krummen Kerzers and Lidl Switzerland on the subject of liquefied natural gas is not the first collaboration between the companies. Both have already joined the Lean & Green initiative, committing to reduce their carbon dioxide emissions by 20 percent within five years. Lidl Switzerland was awarded the first Lean & Green star in the country, as the company achieved the target after just three years.
