Kässbohrer can look forward to one first place and two second places at Trailer Innovation 2021.
The winner in the "Component" category is the RUPD-5K1 multifunctional rear underride guard, which impressed with its safe and foldable design. The rear underrun protection can be adjusted up and down to different positions and simultaneously fulfills the protection task for semi-trailers as a rear bumper and offers solutions for operational efficiency in five different operating modes, avoiding problems during docking, ferry traffic, intermodal traffic, unloading and tire changing.
Kässbohrer's first and only 45 ft. large coil swap body K.SWAU CC took second place in the "Body" category. The K.SWAU CC has an integrated coil trough and has been developed for intermodal coil transportation. This is made possible by the chassis design with a total capacity of 30 tons.
Kässbohrer's Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (K-ADAS) took second place in the "Smart Trailer" category. K-ADAS is characterized by four features made up of seven technologies, more than 50% of which are new to the trailer industry, according to the manufacturer. They are intended to contribute to the development of the intelligent trailer that will be required when fully autonomous driving becomes standard.
