GLS delivers emission-free in Karlsruhe
The parcel service provider GLS Germany is expanding its fleet in Karlsruhe with six environmentally friendly VW e-Crafters, enabling emission-free delivery throughout the city center.
The e-Crafters take over delivery routes in an area that was previously served by diesel vehicles. This results in around 30 tons lessCO2 per year. The charging infrastructure has been specially installed at the nearby GLS depot. The e-Crafters have a range of around 100 kilometers and a cargo capacity of around 160 parcels.
"We are delighted to be making our contribution to the goal of a green city in Karlsruhe with low-noise and emission-free delivery," says Anja Herter, Region Manager Germany South-West. "We are planning to use more e-vehicles to convert additional routes in Karlsruhe accordingly."
