Gebrüder Weiss introduces ETA
When will my shipment arrive? Gebrüder Weiss customers will now receive an even more precise answer. This is because the logistics company is introducing ETA - Estimated Time of Arrival - with immediate effect. Depending on the traffic situation, Gebrüder Weiss constantly recalculates the estimated time of arrival of a shipment. In the final delivery, this is limited to a 2-hour time window. Customers can call up the progress and estimated time of arrival of their consignments online. Gebrüder Weiss offers this digital service for groupage freight wherever the company also handles final delivery. GW has a nationwide network of its own land transportation locations between Basel in the west and Tbilisi in Georgia in the east.
The introduction of the ETA function is part of Gebrüder Weiss' digital strategy. According to the company, a lot has been done in recent years to further expand its digital expertise. The company's strategic goal is to offer an optimal combination of physical performance and digital tools. "This clearly sets us apart from the purely digital newcomers on the market, who deliver digital usability but are only able to act to a limited extent without their own assets, as the current situation during the coronavirus crisis shows," says Jürgen Bauer, Member of the Management Board at Gebrüder Weiss. The company refers to this combined approach as the "best of both worlds". Or in reference to the claim "GW moves": #WeMoveSmarter. "We combine operational excellence and digital expertise - and thus create added value for our customers," says Jürgen Bauer about the hashtag.
