Funding program for environmentally friendly trucks adopted
Berlin, 08.06.2018 - The Federal Ministry of Transport (BMVI) has presented a funding guideline for energy-efficient and low-carbon trucks, which is to be published in the Federal Gazette at the beginning of June. The first applications are expected to be submitted to the Federal Office for Goods Transport (BAG) in July.
This provides financial support for the purchase of trucks and tractor units powered by natural gas (CNG), liquefied natural gas (LNG) or certain electric drives (pure battery electric vehicles and fuel cell vehicles).
The commercial vehicle manufacturer Iveco welcomes the regulation and sees this as recognition of its long-standing efforts to promote methane gas mobility in Germany. The company designs, produces and markets a comprehensive range of commercial vehicles, construction vehicles and special vehicles for off-road applications. Iveco presented various methane gas solutions at the IFAT trade fair in 2018. The trade fair is primarily aimed at municipalities and municipal contractors. mm
