BigMove introduces digital driver's license

BigMove AG is going digital with qualification certificates. All drivers in the heavy haulage network are gradually being issued with personal driver cards in cheque card format. In addition to general and individual information, there is a QR code on the card. It forms the heart of the new card system in the industry.

Readable with any smartphone or tablet, the QR code contains the work and safety-relevant data of the respective driver. Individual proof of authorization to drive and operate vehicles and machines can be retrieved in a matter of seconds, as can training and qualification certificates. With the information behind the QR code, the driver card practically becomes a digital driver's license within the meaning of the Industrial Safety Ordinance.

BigMove AG expects the introduction of the new system to increase transparency. All qualifications for driving heavy goods vehicles can be called up immediately and can be verified by the drivers straight away. This applies in particular to health and safety inspections at the loading and unloading stations, but also to police checks. Digital documentation is also meeting with growing acceptance from the authorities.
BigMove AG ensures that the stored evidence is up to date. It maintains the documentation with specially created software and thus always keeps the driver-relevant data up to date.

"We expect the introduction of the new digital driver's license for our drivers to increase transparency. This applies above all to the safety of heavy goods transportation. All important information is immediately visible on the card that each of our drivers carries," says Olaf Beckedorf, CEO of BigMove AG. The project should be completed by the end of the year. Each of BigMove AG's 1,000 drivers will then be equipped with their own personal digital driver's license.
