20 new Mega Liners for Toni Hotz Transporte
Spedition Toni Hotz Transporte is expanding its fleet with 20 new Mega Liners from Krone. Alexander Hotz, owner and managing director of Toni Hotz Transporte, recently picked up the first one in Werlte. The new vehicles will gradually replace the older Mega Liners in the fleet.
For the new volume trailers, each with a vehicle length of over 15 meters, Hotz relies on modern equipment such as the innovative Safe Curtain load securing tarpaulin, in which high-strength spring steel strips are integrated into the side tarpaulins in vertical PVC tunnel pockets. The advantage: as there is no need for classic insertion slats, the Safe Curtain is not only easier and safer to handle, but also saves around 100 kg in weight compared to conventional side tarpaulins with insertion slats. The Safe Curtain also meets the requirements of Daimler Load Securing 9.5 and is certified for beverage transportation and in accordance with EN 12642 Code XL.
Another plus point: the integrated spring steel strips also perform an anti-theft function in the vertical direction: if the tarpaulin is deliberately cut, it can only be cut up to the next spring steel strip. The tarpaulin can be repaired just as easily as a standardized side tarpaulin. In addition, accidents caused by falling slats are a thing of the past. The reversing camera system mounted at the rear of the 15-meter trailer is also driver-friendly. The new Hotz Mega Liners also have a hydraulic lifting roof with a total lift of 500 mm for fast loading and unloading as well as electronically controlled air suspension, including a lifting and lowering device for manual ramp adjustment.
