New Schulte Green shelving series
Green from the Sauerland
The Sauerland-based company Schulte Lagertechnik has introduced a new shelving series - Schulte Green. According to the manufacturer, the shelving in this series offsets 100 percent of theCO2 emissions from its manufacture.
This would make them industry-wide pioneers in terms of sustainability in warehouse planning.CO2 offsetting is achieved through the purchase of corresponding certificates. In addition to the steel, all pre-production and transportation is also covered by the certificates. This is the first, but currently the most effective step towards sustainable shelving production, as green - i.e. completelyCO2-free- steel will only become a reality in a few years' time. In addition to the use ofCO2-compensated raw materials, short transportation routes also contribute to the climate-friendly balance of Schulte products; the company manufactures the Green series in the middle of Germany, thus eliminating long delivery routes.
Compared to products that are imported thousands of kilometers to Germany, a delivery from the Sauerland therefore causes significantly lessCO2. The high quality and the associated long service life of Schulte shelving systems also have a positive effect on the sustainability account. In addition, Schulte only uses special powder coatings that only require low temperatures during painting, which in turn saves energy andCO2 . Another positive aspect in terms of sustainability: steel can be fully recycled at the end of its useful life. Schulte, a traditional family business, celebrated its 100th birthday in 2021 and attaches great importance to sustainability itself; the shelving manufacturer regularly supports local reforestation projects.
