Shelving technology
AR Racking installs shelving mix for packaging specialists
AR Racking has built a new pallet warehouse for Igamo Packaging, a specialty packaging company based in Legutio (Spain).
The company implemented a mix of its "AR PAL" system and "AR Drive in" at Igamo Packaging.
AR-PAL is a conventional intralogistics solution consisting of flexibly designed steel shelving for standard pallets. This solution can be designed in different depths and heights and with wide or narrow aisles and can be operated by industrial trucks or manually. AR-Drive-in is a compact drive-in racking system for pallets. Loading and unloading is carried out using forklift trucks according to the LIFO principle (Last In - First Out).
The reason for the newly installed storage technology was the desire of the expanding company Igamo to systematize its flow of goods, which had previously been based on block storage and was comparatively chaotic, and thus make it more efficient. The challenge was to store goods of different dimensions in the most space-saving way possible. The stored goods consist of raw materials and finished cardboard packaging products that are individually manufactured for customers in the food, pharmaceutical and automotive industries. As a result, the products vary considerably in terms of dimensions, weight and composition.
The AR-PAL system was designed at Igamo Packaging with gratings. These can be adapted to almost any weight and any volume of stored goods. The multi-depth drive-in racking AR-Drive-in is designed without aisles between the racks and with just one loading aisle. This maximizes the degree of space utilization.
