AR Racking over the year 2022
"Most of the value chain lies within the Group"
"The order books are well filled - at least at AR Racking. However, the transportation chains that have been affected by the pandemic and trade conflicts are a cause for concern. They are delaying delivery times for materials such as steel, wood and preliminary products. This affects the predictability of project planning. For AR Racking, and this gives me a very positive outlook for the coming year, these disruptions are less significant, as a large part of the value chain lies within our own Group. As a result, we can schedule our projects and keep our price promises thanks to this project-specific, secure supply situation. This is certainly a competitive advantage that will help shape AR Racking's business development in the coming year.
In its forecasts for the mechanical and plant engineering sector for 2021 and 2022, the VDMA expects production to grow by 10% and 5% respectively. Sales will already exceed the level of the pre-coronavirus year 2019. In our further assessment, we will have to wait and see what impact the sharp rise in energy costs and the still unresolved pandemic will have on production. Taking these premises into account, I am optimistic that AR Racking will exceed the VDMA's forecasts.
