Portfolio expanded
Klinkhammer cooperates with Exotec
Klinkhammer is expanding its product portfolio to include shuttle robots, which handle both transportation to the order picker and storage in the racking system in the automated small parts warehouse.
E-commerce and retail providers looking for flexible, scalable automated storage systems can now purchase the Skypod system from Exotec Solutions integrated into their overall logistics with warehouse management software and service from Klinkhammer.
The partnership between Exotec and intralogistics specialist Klinkhammer primarily covers German-speaking countries and the locations in Poland and Turkey. Exotec Solutions, based in Lille, France, is responsible for direct sales in France and works with regional representatives in other European and international countries.
The combination of robot technology and system integration with digital networking and competent on-site service from Klinkhammer benefits customers who are looking for a holistic solution for their logistics processes "Klinkhammer and Exotec are working together to create new innovative 4.0 logistics solutions that maximize productivity and flexibility for the customer," explains Thomas Preller, Head of Business Development and responsible for new technologies at Klinkhammer. Romain Moulin, CEO of Exotec Solutions, adds: "Customers are looking for high-performance and high-throughput systems that adapt to the dynamic development of the market and can be easily integrated into material flows and logistics systems."
Autonomous robot shuttles
The fleet of autonomous robot shuttles can operate in the automated small parts warehouse and on the floor. AI is used to move the robot shuttles in all directions and upwards. They remove goods containers from shelves up to 10 meters high and transport them to the order pickers. This eliminates the need for a complex conveyor pre-zone and lifter technology, as is the case with conventional shuttle warehouses. The system can be adapted to the customer's dynamic market development by using additional robot shuttles and is therefore ideal for efficiently absorbing a fluctuating order situation in retail and e-commerce warehouses.
The system redundancy means that a Skypod can be removed from the fleet at any time without causing operational restrictions. The remote-controlled robots reach speeds of up to 4 meters per second. In combination with other conveyor and storage systems as well as the connection to incoming goods and dispatch, Klinkhammer, as general contractor and system integrator, offers a complete intralogistics concept including digitalization of the warehouse.
