PLUS optimizes delivery network with software solution from Manhattan Associates
Manhattan Associates announces that PLUS has selected Manhattan's Transportation Management System (TMS) to help optimize its route planning.
Manhattan's cloud-based TMS solution has been implemented at a number of distribution centers to help PLUS manage the transportation and logistics requirements of its supermarkets in the Netherlands. With the TMS, the company is able to more efficiently manage all inbound deliveries from suppliers to the distribution centers as well as outbound shipments from the four nationwide distribution centers.
"Manhattan's Transportation Management System is a scalable, cloud-based transportation solution that makes the delivery of products to all our stores easier and more efficient. This makes for fuller shelves and therefore happier customers," said Patrick van Vugt, Manager Transport PLUS. PLUS is working to optimize its distribution capacity. The construction of a new, mechanized distribution center in Oss in the province of North Brabant is an important part of this. The distribution center will be put into operation at the end of 2022 / beginning of 2023. In combination with Manhattan's new transport management system, this will help PLUS achieve its goals for more efficient distribution.

"Together with the Manhattan team, we also performed an advanced network simulation with operational analytics data. This has helped us to make decisions that will continue to be important for the further optimization of our transport plans in the future."
