Picking and storing via app
With the KlinkVoice app, standard smartphones with a headset and scanner can be conveniently used for pick-by-voice and put-by-voice applications. Traditional, cost-intensive voice consoles and handhelds are replaced. This means that only around half the usual investment costs are incurred and flexibility in the warehouse is increased.
In our private lives, mobile access to information of all kinds has long been a matter of course. Logistics employees can now also enjoy this flexibility with additional smartphone features. Intralogistics specialist Klinkhammer presents KlinkVoice, a mobile application for audio-visual user guidance during order picking and storage. The mobile solution with a multi-media kit consisting of an app, smartphone, headset and scanner offers customers decisive cost and flexibility benefits. KlinkVoice can be used to equip large international logistics centers as well as small, specialized picking systems.
Audio-visual user guidance
In addition to voice user guidance, it is also possible to use touch and scan as input aids, all with one app. Speech synthesis in the audio section makes it possible to read out texts that could previously only be displayed on screens or receipts. The smartphone also offers graphical interfaces and the display of photos. KlinkVoice thus closes the gap between modern digitalization and existing systems, opening up application possibilities that are tailored to specific customer needs.
App connected to KlinkWARE WMS
KlinkVoice, an app for the KlinkWARE warehouse management software, can be installed on any Android smartphone. The phone communicates via WLAN with a server that issues tasks and receives feedback. The smartphone therefore does not require an internet connection. The headset and scanner are connected to the cell phone via Bluetooth. The scanner is used to scan user authentication, load carriers, products and local markings to locate bins or shelves. Voice messages and commands are transmitted to the worker via the headset. The worker can also provide feedback by voice. The employee selects their area of responsibility using the app interface on their smartphone. For example, they receive additional information, a product image or can enter stock corrections. "Digitalization with the help of smartphone apps gives customers new scope for action and cost advantages over the competition. Configurable solutions with open interfaces allow Klinkhammer to flexibly adapt the applications to the customer's individual requirements," explains Özcan Boyraz, software architect and developer at the Klinkhammer Group.
Reduced picking time and increased picking reliability
The new app is linked to the existing KlinkWARE warehouse management system. Voice output and speaker-independent, multilingual speech recognition are provided by the Klinkhammer voice dialog system. It guarantees a professional voice dialog. The operator receives the picking instructions by computer voice and can confirm the removal by voice. Scanning the compartment barcode confirms that the correct goods have been found at the picking location. It is no longer necessary to speak the compartment check digit. This shortens the picking time and reduces the effort involved in labeling the shelves. Product scanning can be used instead of compartment barcode scanning. This provides picking reliability, enables mixed storage and thus increases storage density. Quantity correction on the display makes operation easier. In addition, precise reasons for correction can be specified.
The digital transformation is changing markets and shifting the boundaries between traditional industrial and consumer products. The Klinkhammer software experts always aim to simplify complex technologies and optimize intralogistics processes using modern technology in order to provide customers with decisive cost and flexibility benefits.
