Inventory sampling optimized at the Sund Group
From 9,000 to 32 - with Remira Statcontrol Cloud, Sund has greatly optimized its inventory counting process. The specialist for disposable products counted and confirmed the samples within half a day - a significant improvement compared to the previous inventory process.
The Sund Group consists of four individual companies with experts in disposable products and e-commerce: Emil Deiss, Fipp Handelsmarken, Bingold and Sund Digital. In total, the Sund Group has around 1,500 article numbers on around 40,000 pallets in stock.
At the beginning of 2022, the company had already gathered information from Remira on the topic of inventory simplification and successfully completed a test run for inventory sampling. However, the final decision was not made until November - but then everything happened very quickly. Jörg Groenefeld, Logistics Manager at Sund Group, recalls: "At the end of November, we decided to implement inventory sampling with Remira at our subsidiary Deiss. Within three days, Remira made the necessary preparations and also brought the auditor on board.
This enabled us to implement the inventory at short notice." Previously, Deiss managed a manual warehouse and carried out the inventory there in such a way that every pallet whose stock had not been reduced to zero within 365 days was counted. Since this year, an automated high-bay warehouse has been managed. In the future, the company would like to avoid the old procedure with the time-consuming storage and retrieval process and handle the inventory with the statistical procedures of Statcontrol Cloud.
Inventory costs reduced by more than 99.5 percent
With the Statcontrol Cloud inventory sampling solution, companies can carry out the inventory on their own without any installation work or consulting. Sören Dede, Managing Director of Sund, was also enthusiastic about this: "The implementation of Statcontrol Cloud was extremely quick, as no server had to be installed and no interface had to be set up. The effort on our part was also limited, we only had to export data via a CSV file and then only had to count 32 items out of a total of almost 9,000."
As a result, Deiss was able to reduce the inventory count by more than 99.5 percent. The Managing Director also has positive memories of the good support provided by Remira in the background: "We had support from Remira Service when carrying out the inventory, so everything went smoothly. We didn't need any help on site, everything was done remotely. Overall, we are very satisfied with the result and the process," says Dede.
