Daniel Marasch becomes a member of the Management Board
SIXT expands Managing Board with new Van & Truck division
With effect from 1 January, the Managing Board of Sixt SE will be expanded to include the new Van & Truck division and internationalization expert Daniel Marasch will be appointed to the Managing Board.
SIXT is thus responding to the increasing importance of the Van & Truck product area and tapping into new potential as part of its international growth strategy. For the USA and Europe alone, the global mobility provider estimates the market size in the rental business for commercial vehicles and trucks at over ten billion US dollars. SIXT is once again going on the offensive with the creation of its own Management Board department.
With the appointment of 43-year-old Daniel Marasch, an experienced expert with strong implementation skills is joining the Management Board. As a former board member of the retail company Lidl, Daniel Marasch brings with him expertise in international expansion and in setting up sustainable logistics and supply chains. At the age of 25, Marasch was already Managing Director Sales at Lidl Ireland, from there he rose to become CEO Lidl Italy and CEO Lidl Germany and was later responsible for the development of strategically important foreign markets as a member of the International Management Board.
Erich Sixt, CEO of Sixt SE: "As one of the most successful international mobility providers, we have set ourselves the goal of achieving a leading market position in Europe in the van & truck rental business in the long term and at the same time conquering relevant market shares in the USA in the medium term. We look forward to working with Daniel Marasch and will pursue this goal together with all our strength. With the future independent Van & Truck division, SIXT is creating the necessary entrepreneurial freedom to scale the topic globally with a strong focus - on a par with the successful car mobility division. SIXT is thus also responding to the increasing importance of the Van & Truck product area, which has proven to be a strong and stable constant in our mobility portfolio, especially during the Corona crisis."
In recent years, SIXT has grown continuously and profitably with its Van & Truck division and has established itself as one of the leading providers of van and truck rentals under 7.5 tons in German-speaking countries. SIXT also sees great potential in this product area in the coming years: For example, the mobility provider expects demand for commercial vehicle rentals for parcel delivery to continue to rise due to the booming online trade.
Konstantin Sixt, Chief Sales Officer of Sixt SE: "The Van & Truck product area has developed into a hidden champion in our product portfolio in recent years. We see great sales potential here for the future - not only in Germany, but above all in our international markets. We want to offer our customers a significantly improved user experience by digitizing the rental process. We believe that our ONE mobility platform, the highly digitalized processes and our desire to grow are the ideal prerequisites for capturing relevant market shares."
Daniel Marasch, new Managing Director Van & Truck of Sixt SE, says: "SIXT has the vision and the assertiveness to develop into a central, international player in the previously highly fragmented van & truck rental market. I will bring all my experience with international logistics chains, extensive international expansion and success-oriented team management to bear. The entrepreneurial dynamism of SIXT as well as the will to grow are what spur me on. Van & Truck should become a sustainable growth driver for our company."
