Management change at Hellmann
The Supervisory Board of Hellmann Worldwide Logistics has appointed Jens Drewes as Chief Executive Officer with effect from August 2024. Drewes succeeds Reiner Heiken, who has decided to retire next year.
Reiner Heiken has been CEO of the global logistics service provider since the end of 2018 and has successfully developed and realigned the company since then. In Jens Drewes, the Supervisory Board found the right successor for Reiner Heiken at an early stage. Drewes has worked in the logistics industry for over 30 years, primarily in the Asia-Pacific region and Europe. Drewes has worked for Kühne + Nagel since the end of the 1990s, where he was most recently responsible for the European business. When he joins Hellmann in August 2024, Jens Drewes will take over as CEO of the Hellmann Group's five regions as well as the HR, Sales&Marketing, Corporate Development and Communications divisions.
The Supervisory Board has also decided to add a Chief Digital Officer (CDO) to the existing three-member Management Board in order to meet the growing demands of IT and digitalization. Stefan Borggreve, who has been working for Hellmann since 2006 and, after holding positions in Germany and the USA, was most recently represented on the International Executive Board as CDO, will be responsible for the new Executive Board department from January 1, 2024. In his new position, Stefan Borggreve will assume responsibility for the areas of innovation and sustainability in addition to IT&Digital - both important pillars of the "4ward27" corporate strategy.
As long-standing and experienced members of the Management Board, Jens Wollesen and Martin Eberle will continue to ensure continuity in the company's management: as Chief Operating Officer (COO), Jens Wollesen will continue to focus on the strategic development of the sea and air freight, overland transportation and contract logistics products. The contract with Martin Eberle, Chief Financial Officer (CFO), was extended for a further five years as scheduled.
