Kion Group reorganizes Supervisory Board

The industrial truck group used the 2023 Annual General Meeting in Frankfurt for a change at the top.

After a break of three years, Kion Group AG once again welcomed its shareholders in person to the Annual General Meeting. In Frankfurt's Palmengarten, CEO Rob Smith looked back on the 2022 financial year, which was characterized by external and internal challenges for the Group.

In the course of the invitation to the Annual General Meeting on May 17, 2023, the Kion Group set the course for the long-term composition of its bodies. Dr. Michael Macht had informed the company that he would be stepping down as a member and Chairman of the Group's Supervisory Board at the end of the Annual General Meeting. The former Chairman of the Executive Board of Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG and former member of the Management Board of VW AG has been a member of the Supervisory Board of the Kion Group since October 9, 2018 and has headed the Board since May 9, 2019.

The Nomination Committee recommended that the Supervisory Board elect the previous Chairman of the Audit Committee, Hans Peter Ring, as Chairman of the Supervisory Board. Ring has been a member of the Supervisory Board as an independent shareholder representative since June 9, 2013. The former Chief Financial Officer of EADS NV (now Airbus SE) and independent management consultant has many years of experience in the management of listed companies on the Executive Board and Supervisory Board.

Following the proposal of the Nomination Committee, the Supervisory Board proposed that Dr. Nicolas Peter be elected to the Supervisory Board as an independent shareholder representative. Peter had been a member of the Board of Management of BMW AG since 2017, where he was responsible for Finance. At the end of the Annual General Meeting of BMW AG on May 11, 2023, he handed over his office to his successor and retired. The Nomination Committee recommended that the Supervisory Board elect Dr. Peter as the new Chairman of the Audit Committee following his election to the Supervisory Board by the Annual General Meeting.

The Supervisory Board has also reappointed Andreas Krinninger as a member of the Kion Executive Board for a further 5 years. His new term of office begins on January 1, 2024. Krinninger has been responsible for the EMEA business of the Industrial Trucks & Services (ITS) segment on the Executive Board since 2021. It comprises the operating businesses of the Linde Material Handling, Still and Baoli brands in the EMEA region.
