Gundula Ullah (Head of Purchasing at Funke Mediengruppe, Essen) has succeeded Horst Wiedmann, who did not stand for re-election after two terms in office, as the new Chairwoman of the Executive Board. Wiedmann had been Chairman since 2012.

Christian Staab (BorgWarner Transmission, Ketsch, Germany) was elected as Deputy Chairman of the Executive Board and Martin Müller-Raidt (KfW Banking Group, Frankfurt) as Treasurer. Christian Satzek (Lenze, Hamelin) was elected as a further member of the Executive Federal Board (BV) at the constituent meeting. Together with Gundulla Ullah and BME Managing Director Dr. Silvius Grobosch, they form the Executive Board.

Other members of the BME Board are:
Prof. Michael Eßig (University of the Federal Armed Forces, Munich)
Erich Graf (Diehl Controls, Wangen)
Matthias Gramolla (Airbus, Toulouse)
Jan Grothe (Deutsche Bahn, Berlin)
Stefanie Lang (MVV Energie, Mannheim)
Gunnar Schmidt (Löwenstein Medical Technologies, Hamburg)
Dirk Schneider (Deutsche Post DHL, Bonn)

In addition to Horst Wiedmann, the previous Deputy Chairman of the BME Board, Dr. Michael Nießen (Deutsche Post DHL, Bonn) and Uwe Günther (Deutsche Bahn, Berlin) left the BME Federal Board. The delegates thanked them for their many years of successful association work. In addition, Lothar Kunkel (former Chairman of the BME Delegates Committee and long-standing Chairman of the BME Rhine-Main region) and Dr. Holger Hildebrandt (BME Chairman of the Board from 1996 to 2000 and BME Managing Director from 2000 to 2013) were appointed honorary members.

The BME statutes were also brought up to date in terms of association law at the delegates' meeting. The delegates also approved the BME budget for 2021. In view of the difficult circumstances this year, the trade association will continue to work in a very cost-conscious manner, while at the same time equipping the BME for the future in the best possible way.
